City To Sign Contract With Entertainment Promoter

Entertainment Promoter

Brooks – The City of Brooks will be signing a contract with an entertainment promoter to bring country music artist Clay Walker to the Fieldhouse at the JBS Canada Centre in Spring of 2019. Details about ticket sales and concert dates will be released once finalized. The City will be working with Visit Newell to build momentum and attract more special events and concerts to increase tourism and give residents more things to do in the region.

“Our hope is that this will be a successful concert, so we can book more events and attract other large talent,” says Jaime McIntosh, Marketing Specialist with Visit Newell.

“We know the community will support this endeavor that will establish Brooks as a lucrative concert destination,” says Mayor Barry Morishita.

The goal will be to bring in acts large enough to eventually move into the Centennial Regional Arena.

This project coincides with Council’s commitment to expand and enhance events in Brooks, as stated in the 2017-2021 Strategic Focus Areas. Concerts such as this will promote the City’s infrastructure and facilities, assist event planners and increase the number of concerts held in Brooks.
