Earth Hour Free Dim Swim

Earth Hour Poster 2017 newsfeed

Brooks – Come join EcoBrooks in a free Earth Hour “Dim Swim” on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 8 – 9:30 p.m. at the Leisure Centre. This free event will encourage residents to get out of their homes and consolidating energy use by swimming and playing under reduced lighting!

Earth Hour is the single, largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world. One hour inspires a global community of millions of people across 152 countries and territories to switch lights off for an hour as a massive show of concern for the environment.

Each year FortisAlberta challenges municipalities to reduce energy consumption through the Energy Your Way™ Earth Hour Challenge. Fortis rewards the top three highest energy saving communities per capita during Earth Hour with $5,000, $2,500 and $1,500 grants respectively to enhance energy efficient. To help with this initiative, EcoBrooks is asking that residents to turn off all non-essential lights and electronics during Earth Hour from 8:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 25th. Earth Hour is an opportunity to think about ways you can reduce your energy use throughout the year and show your support for the environment!
