Brooks – The City of Brooks is pleased to announce that JBS Canada has secured the naming rights to the city’s leisure centre, which will now be called JBS Canada Centre.
“JBS Canada is committed to being a positive presence in the communities which we live and work,” said JBS Canada CEO David Colwell. “We are excited to collaborate with the City of Brooks as they renovate the Lakeside Leisure Centre, and honored that our name will be a part of this state-of-the art facility. We believe that this is a true partnership, providing an opportunity to enhance the lives of our team members and support the City that we call home.”
Brooks Mayor Barry Morishita said the City is pleased to be partnering with JBS as they have been a longtime economic driver and community stakeholder.
“To be able to provide the best recreation facilities possible, we rely on our partners in recreation, and JBS Canada has become an integral partner. Not only does their contribution make the facility possible, but our partnership will ensure that utilization of the facility is optimized, “said Mayor Morishita.
JBS Canada’s contribution for the naming rights is $1,000,000.
The JBS Canada Centre is owned and operated by the City of Brooks. The facility houses an aquatic centre with wave pool and waterslide, arena, curling rink, fitness centre and multipurpose rooms. The City recently renovated and expanded the centre to include a multipurpose field house and soccer centre, child care centre and Brooks Public Library. The grand opening will take place May 13th from 12 to 6 p.m.
