Brooks – The City of Brooks will be holding a Bicycle Auction on Saturday, May 27th. An auction is held every year to remove bikes that are found or abandoned and are not claimed by their owners. Currently there are dozens of bikes ranging from mountain, road, stunt and kids bikes. Their condition ranges from excellent used condition to needing small repairs.
Location: JBS Canada Centre Cenovus Flexhall
Viewing: 9 am – 10 am
Silent auction: 10 am to 11 am
• Buyers must be present at close of auction;
• Cash or cheques accepted; and,
• Items to be taken on sale day and must be paid in full.
Participants are encouraged to come early so that they can review the bikes available. Viewing will be from 9am -10am followed by the auction. If you have lost a bicycle, please call Municipal Enforcement at (403) 362-2331 before the auction date.
The City of Brooks Municipal Enforcement Department will also be launching a new bike registration program where bike owners may register their bikes with the City. Through a serial number and optional photo the City will record the make and model of the bike as proof of ownership. If the bike is ever lost or stolen and recovered, the program will assist in returning the bike to its rightful owner. Registration forms for new bikes can be found at your local Canadian Tire and Walmart stores.
