The City of Brooks is excited to announce that it will once again be facilitating the Toys for Tickets campaign. The City of Brooks will be accepting children’s toys in lieu of payment for municipal tickets; each donor's unpaid ticket will be waived. All toys received will then be donated to local families through the Scotia Bank Smiles for Christmas Toy Drive Campaign.
Details:
• Any ticket with a value of $57.00 or less issued between November 15th and December 15th is eligible for the program.
• Bring your toy donation to City Hall.
• Those with multiple violations will have to bring in multiple new, unwrapped toys.
• Donations in lieu of ticket payment will only be accepted until December 15th.
“We have had nothing but great response from the community with our Toy’s for Tickets campaign. This being our 5th Anniversary, I’m hoping we get a great response,” says Lisa Tiffin, Manager of Shared Services. “The campaign lessens the financial blow of a ticket while supporting a great cause in the Smiles for Christmas Toy Drive.”
Toys donated in lieu of payment for parking tickets must be:
• Age appropriate; children under 12.
• New, in their original packaging and not gift wrapped.
• The toy must be valued at least $30 - bring your receipt!
