NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF BROOKS, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA
PROPOSED BYLAW 26/015 (ROAD CLOSURE)
To be held at 5:00 pm, April 13th 2026
City of Brooks Council Chambers
A Public Hearing in general accordance with the Municipal Government Act and the City’s Procedural Bylaw, and consideration of the Second and Third Readings of Proposed Bylaw 26/015 will be held in City of Brooks Council Chambers. Any person who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw may make representation to the City Council at the Public Hearing.
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Bylaw 26/015 is to close the public roadway on the entire portion of lane lying within Block 1 and Block 2, Plan 981 3007 which will be turned over to the respective lands north of the road right-of-way.

HOW TO ATTEND OR VIEW THE PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing to consider the proposed Bylaw 26/015 will be held in the City of Brooks Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m. on April 13, 2026. Please get in touch (contact information above) if you would like to speak at the meeting or attend virtually.

WHAT DOES THIS ROAD CLOSURE BYLAW ACTUALLY MEAN?
This bylaw would close an old road allowance that was never built or used. It doesn't provide access to any properties, and a new residential concept plan includes an updated internal road layout that replaces the unused one as part of a proposed upcoming residential development. Since the old road allowance is no longer needed, closing it now simply lets the land be incorporated into the new design. You can view the concept plan here.
